Apes are the most intelligent animals and are therefore susceptible to mental illness.
Environmental enrichment is a measure to reduce mental and physical stress and lead a happy life from the standpoint of apes, not from the convenience and emotions of human beings.
Why do they have bold spots. And what species of chimpanzees have ears folded over like that?
Almost none of them even have fur for further baby to grab. Grabbing skin.

WOW you can definitely tell the differences in each zoo. Maybe Furt kept giving her baby away is because it was born through inscest. Maybe she just didnt want it at all. Thats one Crazy zoo.

Is true. Mikan is very experienced because she help Momoko's to take care of two Buki brothers. She is certainly a good mother. Dill is healthy and smart. Very soon, Dill will follow Fubuki and Ibuki to play around.

There is a remarkable difference in how the two babies are raised. Dill is cared for while Furt's baby is just passed around like he/she isn't wanted. The poor thing. Is Furt's baby a boy or girl? Does he/she even have a name? Is there nothing zookeepers can do to keep the baby safer?

Because that zoo sucks and doesn’t care about these animals. They care only about the almighty yen. 💴 They’ve had so many chimps die in their care, but actually could care less. It’s terrible 😢

Dill is so lucky he’s born and at Tama Zoo! As for Furto, hairless mom or not is at a zoo with all the monkeys there so VERY thin and non-healthy looking. Breaks my ❤! These beautiful animals deserve the very best! They were down sized because of us humans-such a shame 😢
“Down sized?” That is the words you use to describe the absolute devastation that humans have brought upon the ape population on our planet? Poaching, stealing infants to be sold, and complete destruction of habitat is not down sizing.
The chimpanzees unfortunately all more or less from malnutrition or it the mange in the enclosure. The little one at 21.35 has a cold. So you can say a very bad zoo!!!
Furuto may have been handing her baby off to others in the troop because of it being cumbersome to carry her baby. She has little to no hair for the baby to grasp as it tries to cling naturally to her. Several times in the videos, the baby shows distres because she has no fur to grasp onto for safety. Fruuto would acknowledge her daughters distress and sit down. Not long afterward, Frutuo would pass her baby to another troop member.

旭山のHPをみても、他の赤ちゃん誕生のニュースはあるのに、フルトの赤ちゃんのお知らせは見つけられませんでした。動物園サイドは近親の間違いでできちゃった子なので扱いが雑なんでしょうか？「避妊してるのに何でできたんだ！」と、担当は怒られているんでしょうか？これまで心配してきたことの他に、私はフルトのお乳はきちんと出てるのか、それがちょっと心配。フルトの赤ちゃん、かわいいですね。いろいろ言ってるけど動物園側の対応が遅い。今、見てたら赤ちゃんは一生懸命つかまってるし、目もイキイキしてる。試練を乗り越えて育ってほしい。
ここは、13人以上も赤ちゃんが死亡しているので、亡くなるのが当たり前だと考えている気がします。人が介入して救おうという考えがないのでしょう。
自然に任せるといえば聞こえはいいですが・・・なんともいえません。いままでもお乳が出てなくても放置してきています。そして死亡しています。
そもそも赤ちゃんの状況を観察する人がいません。一人の飼育員では何も対応できません。赤ちゃんの生命力と運に望みを託すしかないようです。
@@GreatApesZoo そんな気がしてました。。。取り上げて、他の動物園で人工保育してもらうとかっていう考えはないんですね。研究所さん、辛い内情をわざわざ教えてくれて、ありがとうございます。しんどかったでしょう？無知なものは他人を傷つける時があるから。。。13人以上亡くなって、何も制裁が無いのもどうかと思います。動物園協会とか類人猿保護会みたいな世界的な組織が、立入検査したり、そういう人間と同じ組織があったらいいのに。ごめんなさい。返信いりませんよ。
動物園には、法的な規制が全くと言っていいほどないんですよね。もちろん食事を与えないとか掃除を全くしないというのであれば別ですが。
だから法学者が言ってましたが、動物園は無法地帯だと。

冒頭の故ジョー様は伝説のイケメン子だくさんチンプだったんですね。同じ血を引く2人なのに産まれた場所が違うだけで片方は明日がわからないとは....。周りの心配する声は届いてないのでしょうか。反対に何でそんなに騒ぐの？と思ってそうです。でもこうやってミカンさんの子育てと比べると全く違う、おかしい、異常事態だと普通の感覚ならすぐ気づくはずです。それでも放置なら、良くない思惑が働いているとしか思えません。毎日祈るような気持ちでいます。
ちょっと子だくさんすぎて、今となっては血統が偏ってしまいましたね。市営ですから、最終的には市長に関心がないとそのままなのかもしれません。

I love the videos of Mikan being an amazing big sister to both Fubuki and Ibuki, everyone would comment what a great mom she would be and now that she is one, she certainly is. She has learned so much from her own mom Momoko, and I know Dill will grow up healthy and wonderful and maybe one day be an amazing alpha of his own troop.
Furt's baby does worry me, not that Furt is bad mother, but she is older and looks tired, which is why I'm thinking she passes her baby off to her own children often. I know you commented that many babies die at this zoo, has Furt had many babies that have died? I think your videos are amazing because you bring awareness of some of the problems sone of the zoo's have, like this zoo with only one zookeeper, I hope more people complain to the zoo about their worries for these chimps and for the future babies that will come. I'm from America, wish I could help too, not to say that America doesnt have it's own problems with some zoo's, but I love watching the videos of the chimpanzees, gorillas and orangutans of your zoo's in Japan. Keep up the good work and keep the awareness going, we all hope for good change.
Thank you.Furt is a smart chimpanzee who is naturally good at parenting. But she is much older than she used to be. She gave birth to and raised seven children, one of whom died in an accident. The 12 babies who died are children of another chimpanzee.

Nana's ears whom she gets from her mama Journey live on in Dill, she is his Great Auntie, I've always loved chimps with big ears, Rodger at Kyoto City zoo has big ears too. I love them all. In the case of furts baby, I've written 4 emails and a letter to the zoo head, that I'm informing officials to do a wellness check, that baby needs to be cared for or be sent to another zoo who can care for it.

Because that zoo is one of the worst in Japan, the chimpanzees are kept in horrible conditions during the winter months they're kept inside for almost 6 months. The chimps are under immense stress anxiety and have mental issues all of that with poor diet causes the hair loss. Furts baby died not long after this.
I Wanna see MORE of furts baby I wish we could hear the chimp sounds and the babys!

That baby is a toy to them to play with. I am afraid they have no concern or love for it.
@@EmmaDee I feel like this baby has been "half-rejected"...Furt still cares for her and protects her, but then there are moments like this where she will pass her baby off to whoever will take her. From what I have seen the males seem to love the baby, but nurturing an infant isn't exactly hardwired into a male chimps DNA. There's a difference between having a wise auntie like Akiko from Higashiyama Zoo, and a rambunctious 9 year old male like Haruki watch over your child. This zoo seriously needs to hire some more keepers to watch over their chimps, maybe improve the inner enclosure to where it isn't a towering metal/concrete death trap. And have a dedicated team of humans to watch over the baby until it's a bit older.
Generally with most primates mom is attached like glue with her infant. Other troop members and dads when they get a litter older. It hurt so bad to see how baby girl was treated and not surprised she only lived 3 months.
What a night and day difference in these Zoos. It's like a nice natural landscape with water and fake termite n mounds and lots of structures for climbing vs. A prison cell of concrete, glass, and steel.😞
Pity Furts baby was killed by a none mother chimp, probably Gatz, but no surprise as all the signs were there the mother had little interest resulting in passing the baby around with high risks😢

JAZAがチコとチェリーをチンパンジーの数を増やすため繁殖目的で移動すると決定しましたが、その一方で命を軽視しているのですから呆れてしまいます。
Furt's baby died not long after this, she's now had another baby named Erin and this time they separated her from the males so hopefully the baby will survive but if its future includes being stuck in this hellhole of a zoo for the rest of it's life then I pity it.

Still infuriates me that the zoo officials allowed Furt's baby to be put in dangerous situations and did nothing resulting in the baby's death. I have hope but anxiety for her new baby Erin at least they separated her from the troop this time. This zoo is a disgrace and should be shut down and all these poor mistreated chimps moved to a place they will be treated better and have better living conditions.
There is something really wrong with this zoo, Asahiyama. The fact that most of the apes are losing all of their hair seems like a sign of either anxiety and over-grooming or poor diet or both. This zoo has a big problem with most of the babies dying, incredibly from starvation. It's baffling why the zoo officials do not take the babies away from the mother after a few days of noting being fed. The last baby starved over a period of 97 days. In one case, members of the troop stomped a baby to death for god only knows what reason. These chimps look unhealthy and have a strange group dynamic. They do not appear to be healthy physically or mentally/emotionally.
Hair loss from stresses lack of physical and emotional stimulus improper diet or lack there of. Inadequate staff unqualified and probably underfunded.
Baby of furt died. A preventable death i think.

Around the 10:45 mark the mom knows that baby is trying to feed but she’s only concerned about her own self and food. In my opinion.

Почему нет шерсти у некоторых? Их плохо кормят? Им не хватает витаминов и минералов? У некоторых есть шерсть. Может высокоранговые особи отбирают еду и низкоранговым не хватает еды, потому так? Надо смотреть смотрителям, чтоб так не было ,в клетках они сидят. А в дикой природе не так, низкоранговые особи всегда найдут еду, жучков, паучков итп. И лысыми в природе не бывают шимпанзе.
